Epic Armoury's Eventide Pourpoint is a versatile garment between a gambeson and a doublet. It can be worn with and without armour, providing comfort and flexibility. This pourpoint is crafted from cotton, cotton padding, and suede pieces, strategically placed on exposed and armoured areas such as the upper and lower arms and the upper chest. You can easily adjust it for a perfect fit using the numerous strings, aglets, and eyeholes. Historically, pourpoints were used as thinner gambesons, although only the poorest soldiers relied on them as their sole form of armour. Over time, they evolved into more conventional clothing rather than protective gear. The Eventide Pourpoint draws inspiration from these historical sources, modern dark elves, and classic Norse Svartálfar to create a flexible and protective garment that suits various styles and preferences.
