Technical Details
The bestselling Ready for Battle Gambeson is a padded armour coat designed to cover the torso, abdomen, back, and upper arms. This versatile piece can be worn as standalone armour or padding beneath mail or other types of armour. Fastened at the front with four leather straps featuring iron buckles, the gambeson is designed to be worn like a jacket, providing protection and ease of wear.
Constructed from 100% heavy cotton fabric encasing layers of 100% polyester padding, the gambeson is stitched together in vertical lines to keep the padding securely in place and to impart a classic European high-medieval style. Its open design under the armpits ensures breathability and ease of movement. While featuring a European cut, gambesons and quilted-style armours have been utilized worldwide, making the Ready for Battle Gambeson a versatile and practical option suitable for various periods and settings.

Maintenance
As a heavy duty fabric, this light canvas product is stronger and heavier than simple cotton. This material wrinkles easily, but can be ironed on a higher heat level.
Cleaning
Machine wash at 40°C / 104°F. Please make sure to wash it once before use in order to make sure that remaining dye will be removed from the product. It is advised to wash with similar coloured clothes to reduce the risk of dye imprint. Tumble Dry on low heat, but be aware that it might shrink up to 5%. For general stains or discoloration to the canvas, treat with a commercial fabric cleaner, or blot with tepid water and a soft cloth.
