Epic Armoury's 2nd Quality Hybrid Short Swords are a great way to get a high-quality LARP weapon at a discounted price. These swords may have cosmetic faults, such as incorrect paint or a bad shape, but they are still safe to use and meet our high safety standards. The hybrid short sword collection includes a range of styles inspired by different cultures, such as Japanese wakizashi and Celtic leaf blades. All swords are constructed with a closed-cell foam blade around a fibreglass core, finished with a thick latex coating for durability. The tip is reinforced with a Kevlar core for added safety. The handle and crossguard are made from polyurethane foam, giving the weapon great detail and comfort. You will receive a random design when ordering a 2nd Quality Hybrid Short Sword, as we cannot guarantee a specific style. However, despite its aesthetic imperfections, we guarantee it will be safe.

Maintenance

This hybrid weapon’s handle does not require any special maintenance, while the blade has a latex coating which needs a certain degree of maintenance. For this we recommend using maintenance silicone, which can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. Epic Armoury Maintenance Silicone is an easy, spray-on application, 100% pure and acid-free making it safe to apply. We recommend using Maintenance Silicone on a regular basis, taking care not to apply the spray to the handle by first wrapping it in plastic-wrap. It maintains the latex-coat’s flexibility and prevents it from drying out, keeping the product wear and tear resistant.

Store your weapon flat or on its pommel--NEVER on its tip. Use a simple sheet or towel lining to prevent it from touching a plastic or rubber surface to prevent your weapon from adhering to other products. Keep your weapon in a cool, dry environment.
