Technical Details
Epic Armoury presents the Uncoated RFB Kite Shield, a semi-curved shield inspired by Norman warriors of the 10th to 12th centuries. The shield measures 60 cm long and has a metal-like rim detailed with studs. Despite its simple design, this Kite Shield is a timeless classic sold without colours or latex coating, making it a perfect DIY project. It arrives matte, uncoloured, and undecorated so that you can add your desired detailing. Wear it on your left arm with the help of two leather arm straps on the back, and trust that the sturdy EVA foam shield can withstand the rigours of LARP with regular latex maintenance. For usage, paint the shield using paint made for EVA foam, then coat it with transparent latex when the paint is fully dry. Apply a very thin layer of transparent latex using a brush or dipping the shield, also available in our shop.
- Made from durable closed cell foam that does not shred

Maintenance
All latex-coated weapons need a certain degree of maintenance. For this we recommend using maintenance silicone, which can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. Epic Armoury Maintenance Silicone is an easy, spray-on application, 100% pure and acid-free making it safe to apply. We recommend using Maintenance Silicone on a regular basis. It maintains the latex-coat’s flexibility and prevents it from drying out, keeping the product wear and tear resistant.
Store your latex weapons flat or on its pommel--NEVER on its tip. Use a simple sheet or towel lining to prevent it from touching a plastic or rubber surface to prevent your weapon from adhering to other products. Keep your weapons in a cool, dry environment.
